Buhari presents $496m jets' documents and US letter to National Assembly
President Buhari has presented documents he obtained after purchasing 2 fighter jets from the US to the National Assembly.
He also presented the letter he got from the US giving him a deadline for acquiring the jets.
The letter which came with document from the United States Government to the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Legal Matters was about the reason why he decided to pay $496 million for 12 Super Tucano fighter jets without the approval of National Assembly.
According to report there, were other past governments who went through such purchases or expenditures due to circumstances.
A written note from US was that Nigeria was given the deadline of February 20, 2018, to purchase the jets or renogiate after two years.
After many controversies, Nigerian senators have on Thursday, April 26, called for the impeachment of PMB for not seeking National Assembly approval before the withdrawal of the $496 million use to buy Jet from US.
A representative of Edo state, Senator Matthew Uroghide said President Buhari violated the constitution and should face the punishment as applicable by law.
